singapore tour 2010

we went to singapore this year without much pomp as the previous years. mainly its due to the current situation we are facing.. though we manage to planned it properly. this year we manage stayed in a different hotel, which was situated in the famous Arab Street. and it was very near to The Sultan Mosque. so food was easy... mutton beraini and murtabak...

the first day started quite badly as we had to sent the kids to the pitch and went back to the hotel as we were not allowed to park there. so we decided to park the car at the hotel and take a taxi to the pitch.. damn..

it rained the nearly the whole day... and the pitch was really bad.. it was very muddy.... at time we had to walk through inches of mud.. zayd played quite good and won the plate finals.. imran was a bit unlucky as his team lost in the ealier stages.. aiman lost in the cup semifinals.. all ks not lost in the first day as the boys enjoyed their rugby.. back in the hotel their mum was working very hard to wash the mud of their gears for the next days games..

on sunday, we manage to park near the pitch... yeah!!!!!! it was looking good... aiman was allocated to team ireland and imran was allocated to team usa. finally imran was showing the talent that he has though there are alot of things that need to be done.. aiman .. well he performed very well.. it was the best performance i have seen... hard work does pay... the team lost in the finals against fiji.. whom they lost in the first game in the group stages..

when it all finished, and we were ready to go back to hotel... we realised that our rear tyre was punctured and was very flat... we ahd to change the tyre.. luckily the parents from the club was there to assist.. it feels we are in a big family.. helping each other..

the next day, i went out to look for a tyre shop to repair the tyre... we checked out of the hotel and went out sight seing around singapore... after mutton beraini and murtabak, we left the border at 8pm..

after being with the company for 10 years, i have tendered my resignation... i joined the company in 2000 as finance manager and was promoted to finance director in 2003. there were ups and down in the company, there good and fond memories not to mentione too the odd bad ones... i've learned and experienced a lot of things there.. i wish them the best of luck in the near future... as for me.. its time to regenerate, rebirth and make some thing for my self and for the family... melaka weekend

after training hard... Aiman played very well in this tournamnet. all the things that he learnt he was able to apply it. i reminded him that this is not the only target.. although the team did not win, i reckon he learn a lot from this tournament. and he can only go upward. theres is also a lot of improvement in the local boys. hafiz is playing very well especially with his ball carrying and syukri too has improved in his handling.. mokhtar... too has improved game by game.. he was able to carry the ball and attract more defenders.

its not about winning actually ... its about constant improvement and development...

as a family we really enjoyed the trip and the company... the trip made the parents much more closer and very supportive if each player in the team.. that what makes the club different from other team in the country.

Andy was saying the boys will be beter as they get older.....

last weekend, in the kgvu14 tournament.. i saw a boy from smss playing with his left wrist is fractured.. and yet he played with all his heart.. giving everything as though nothing is wrong.. frankly its stupid on him to keep on playing... though in a true sense of rugby spirit.. he kept on playing. i feel so inspired that i gave him a t shirt ti recognised his efforts...

this weekend the family is going to melaka.. for the melaka u13 tournaments. last year aiman when there he was actual only 11 years old going to 12. this year he will be 12 going to 13. he has worked pretty hard over the month and he had a huge experience playing at u14. during the tournament he git advices from the legends of the past. he learnt a lot from them.. now is to put everything on the table and show that he has developed... he ahs be on top of his game, agressive and also a thinker.. i recond he is able to do it..

woke up around 4am this morning, as abg alim is picking me up for at 5 am. frankly it, i have mixed feeling about going to HK and not watching the aiman play in the KGV 10s. Yesterday i brought him to Seremban for the team training. with his new tunig boots, he went through the phases. putting away his normal pre game jitters.

this morning the wife and imran will be sending him to Seremban.. i hope he makes it on time.. as for imran, i will need to change the way he runs... he runs more like me, he has lots of talents and has natural skills.. next year he will start to train as hard as aiman.

zayd has been bugging me about buying him new boots... now he is getting left overs from his brothers.. imran has three pairs of boots and aiman has two... i will get him a new pair, maybe before The singapore trips.

fatimah... hmmm what can i say... the jewel in heart... since her mother went for he business trip... she became very close and attached to me, and recently she started to take up rugby.. much to the dismay of the mother....

on the way back to malaysia now... the AB lost to Wallables 24- 26. A last minute try...

the seat that we got was great. really on the first row, right next to the pitch.. the view was great. although i brought a camera... was to busy watching the game. the intensity was fantastic... it was much better than watching in on tv.. its like that i could touch the players. yeah the AB lost... it does not matter as long as it is not the world cuo next year.. still lots of things needs building... on with the end of the year tour....

during in HK, i got a live coverage of Aiman's game from the wife.. in the first game their fly half broke his collar bone.. hmm the lost the first game to bandar penawar sports school. the second gme they beat KTJ and tyhe last the loss narrowly to STJ. according to mother he palyed well despite being only 13 years old... well not yet 13... can't wait to watch his game tomorrow.

HK is a nice place to visit. i hope that i am able to bring all of the family here... ( but not on Air Asia). insyallah one day. the place in clean and nice.. halal food is not that difficult... and the place for prayers is easy. i prayed at Kawloon Mosque today... and prayed at the worship hall in the airport.

i must be nuts inside... from puchong to lcct to hong kong to lcct to puching in a day... got on the MRT and ferry.... hmmmm... suddenly now I've got sore knees... never got that during the season... maybe ti much walking fast... did not have much time to do shopping... only bought AB mini flags for for the kids and my AB fanatic mate MM.

you can say that this is the most cash saving trip... did not spend much... only for MRT tickets and food.. that it.. maybe i am learning to control my self?? i hope so...

i do not fancy much travelling on air asia... though this is the only airline which has the schedule suitable for this crazy journey.. round the workld in 24 hours....

thsi weekend while i am away on saturday in Hong Kong, Aiman will be playing in the KGV 10s open in the u14 category. this is the first time i will not be watching him. if i had known that it would be on the same date.. i would not have bought the bedlisloe tickets... he has workd hard during the week and tomorrow will be the day. there's no preasure towards him, just as long as he enjoys playing the game. though in order for him to enjoy.. he needs to work hard in training. i kept reminding him about the time he was onlh given 2 minutes to play and was even subcond to another team...

frankly you are not a full fledge rugby player until you taste the Agongs cup. the most coveted trophy in Malaysia Rugby. winning it is the greatest ambition of a budding rugby player in the country. i have tasted it once in 2000, though i was only part of the team, since i played only 2 minutes in the final. the incident really traumatized me, for so long. 2010 was supoosed to be my swan song year.. along with the double club champion. Sadly it did not happened. we really made it tough for us. we did not play as how it should be done. the fact that we did not entered.

lost the quaterfinal match today... its all over for us and my dream to win the cup... do i feel devastated? dissapointed yes... frustatrated no... the knowledge that i gain... the experience that i gain... the hours it took.... hmmmm .... no regrets... on this campaign i was able to look at the game at different perspective.... a view which i have never seen before for all this while... at its nice and exciting.. hope that i am able to share it with my boys...

no use fretting about... i gave it all... but its not good enough... my only hope for the young guys out there... must have big heart... else dont play the game at the highest level... if you still wanna play... go play in the alumuni league..

ive got my tickets to watch Bedlisloe cup between AB and Wallabies in 30th oct 2010. though Aiman will be playing in the u13s tournament in KGV, Seremban. it tough cause i do not want to miss the Aiman's game, though i have already purchased the tickets earlier. finally i have decided to go to HK but only for a day trip. my flight would be at 7.30 am arriving at 11.30 am, and the leaving at 9.30pm. that way i will be able to watch the AB on sat and be back in time to watch aiman play on sun... wouldnt want to miss Aiman's game...

the commonwealth games rugby started today.... as expected Malaysia got wallop by Kenya, Samoa and PNG. they only trained for 3 days... and this made the team looked out of sorts.. it seems during the qualifiyer Malaysia used the IRB eligible Fijians. though the qualifucations by the CWG's board is very different. in the semangat Malaysia boleh.... evetybidy started to say Malaysia boleh... though what can you di with 3 days.... some argue and said its the responsibilities if the players to be fit.... thoughg we ssgill do not have the same attitude if the profissional players... attitude is key..... unless the players, the rugby community and the governing body changes it attitude.... forever it will the same.... and it will again discussed the same issues......

in tough times, the true colours of your friends will come out. only real mates will be there to show you way. others will find a reason not to be there. i read an article about the mentor minister of singapore wrote about his wife who passed away recently. its an eulogy he wrote at her funeral service. she was besides him through thick and thin.. she event help write the water agreement between Singapore and Malaysia. she even has the knack to know the real friends of the husband... based on that eulogy, she must be a remarkable woman and the truest of friend of the husband... she remind me a lot about my dearest wife..

One of the most difficult task as a parent is to teach the children how to write. Since Aiman then Imran after that Zayd and the latest Fatimah.... As a child it is very difficult for them to learn to hold a pencil and it actually involves lots of muscle coordination in the hands. So you can imagine the difficulties the child face.. the short cut and easiest way is just to hold their hands and move it... it took me 3 hours to get fatimah to write the letter A....

in the movie, Dennis was running the London Marathon all alone, with his sprain ankle. The actual race has long ended though trying to prove that he is a changed man he kept on running. He then was hit by what you call "the wall". Writes calls it writers' block and some calls it mental block and health freaks would call it pleteu.

how do we over come it?? frankly I am not sure... but.. I believe if we kept at it and try to do things differently we might just break the wall. it may also depend on how much we want it, though the main thing is not to panic.. take a deep breath and keep at it......

Dennis, the movie was able to break through the wall and finished the marathon and his loved ones was waiting at the finishing line... hmmmmmm

It's has been quite a while since I updated the blog.... 2009 was a good year and hopefully 2010 will be better, especially when I will turn 40 this year. Fatimah will start kindergarden tomorrow, ZAyd will be standard 1, Imran will be standard 5 and Aiman will be doing his tahfiz for two years. Hopefully and inshallah every thing will turn out find....

wonderful weekend

Last weekend was the first time I was left with the kids. The wife had to go to Sabah for work and i had to look after the kids.

It started on Friday after playing against Kelantan.. I was pretty puffed out when i reached home and the kids wanted to eat out... On saturday I slept the whole day, despite Fatimah getting ready to go swimming at the Marriot. Finally after Asr we when out to Marriot for a swim.... they really enjoyed their time there. After that we went to Saba' for Lamb Kebsah.... we ordered 2 large serving of Lamb Kebsah... and we cleaned it out within minutes. After that we set out to IOI mall... for ice cream.... we reached home about 11pm.

On sunday.... fatimah was crying demanding to follow the brothers to rugby training, I relented. When her mother was around she would seldom follow us to the field, she wanted too but we decided it would be very difficult to look after her. But surprisingly.. she was very well behave that day...

After that we when out to Sunway, to buy Imran's boots. We had dinner at Tony Romas... 10 slabs of spare ribs.... we reached home around 11pm.

frankly, this is one of the best weekends i ever had. I really enjoyed the company of my children... it was really quality time spent.

After much persuading the mother, finally she gave her blessing to bring Aiman along to Bali. Actually wanted to bring Imran along… maybe I am asking too much…
Left LCCT on Friday at 8.45pm and arrived in DPS around 11.45 pm. Reached the hotel around 1.30 am.
On Saturday morning, woke up at 6.00am and were surprised to see the sun shining like it was 9.00 in Malaysia. The Fajr prayers in Bali is at 4.30 am, zhur is at 12.00pm, asr 3.00, magrib is at 6.15 and isya is at 7.21pm. Need to readjust the clock.
Still groggy from the late arrival, when down to the coffee shop for breakfast, when I asked wether the food is Halal, the waiter answered “ hot dog nye halal tapi bacon nye tidak”… close case.. I walked with Aiman in search for food. From afar I could see the Colonel’s face… we decided to walk to KFC and have our breakfast there.. I already did my homework and found out all of the fast food joints in Bali including Pizza Hut, Mac D and KFC are certified halal. For the next 3 days, this KFC is my favourite place.. Every time I was there I ordered the spaghetti and Aiman would order twister…. Breakfast and dinner…….
We stayed Kuta, which is about 10 minutes to the beach. The trip to Canggu Club takes about 45 minutes. Its not due to the distance but due to the small and jammed road leading to the club.
On the way back from Canggu Beach, we passed by the place where the Bali bombing took place, a memorial was built on the bombing site.
After coming to the hotel, Aiman and I when out for a walk to Kuta Beach. Due to my ignorance I did not realise that Bali is an Island, I was always imagining it across the Malacca Straits. In the dark we could hear the sound of the waves crashing on the sandy beaches. The sound was very eerie and scary. I could just imagine the Tsunami that struck Acheh, when the waves where 40 or 50 feet high and it just ran over anything in its path…
The next day, started as the previous day as Aiman and I when to KFC for our breakfast… the games started early on Sunday. We won the finals beating Cobra 15 – 7, Cobra was leading 7 – 5 right down to the buzzer. Seni scored the winning try from the last play of the game. NSW was the crowd favourite and received much accolade after the game.
Frankly the moment of the tour was when the Kiwis from High School Old Boys Christchurch, wanted to perform the Haka for us. It was a great honour to received the haka. As we stood in a line, the chant Kamate were cried out… our Fijian brothers just could not bear it and they started to reply via Chimbi … it was spectacle and a moment which I would not forget. Aiman recorded it and will try to upload it on the blog

It was a learning experience for Aiman and I and it was a very special trip. It’s a father son bonding sessions. I learned to listen to him and he learned to listen to me. I rather think we are very much closer now. He would gives his opinion and I would listen. He chose the presents for his siblings and his mother. The trip also opened his eyes to the real world which is full of challenges and temptations. These things you could not find it in books. I try very much to explain to him the best I could. Hopefully he would be able to fend it when he grows up.
No matter how beautiful the beaches are in Bali… Home where the heart is….

Today its the 19th of Ramadan and we are entering the final leg of the Ramadan... this is what counts... after the 11 month of training.. this is it the last 10 days will define us in front of Allah..

The last 10 days of Ramadhan is very near . In it there is 1 nite that is worth 1,000 months of goodness . Let us strive for this nite eventhough the body is already feeling tired . The last 10 days will be the climax of Ramadhan Al Mubarak .

the most important phrase " the body is already tired..." how true it is, most of us are feeling it because we are only human... that maybe one of the reasons the faltering attendance in Mosque and most would prefer to be at the shopping malls to re energize with the spirit of Eid.

the the words of Hollywood feel good movies... This will separate between the boys and the mens.

Its like when you train for a certain game, you do the hard miles, you sweat it in the gym, you look after your diet and blah blah.. and when you start the game, in the opening stages you are strong, highly motivated and excited. though as you enter the second half energy levels are getting lower, spirits are there but the body is aching and screaming... though you move one...its the last 20 mins .. now this is where all the earlier hard work comes into effect... this period will define whether you are a winner or not.... here talent does not count, the hard work will carry you to the final whistle...

the last 10 days of ramadan is like the above.. it will define us for all of the ibadah, good deeds, acts of worship for Allah in the first eleven month.. then comes ramadan... (game day) in the first 10 days, we are excited, terawikh, night prayers and quran... the second 10 days... start missing the terawikh due to bukak puasa functions, quran and night prayers.. in the last 10s day.. body is tirng, spirit is low.. even the grand prize of lailatul Qadr does not excite you... Nauzubillah on the last 10s.. its those who has done Allah's bidding, the hardwork, the quran, the dakwah and amal soleh will prevail... and will be rewarded... SO ARE THE ONE? ARE YOU GOING TO FINISH STRONG... OO ALLAH GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO BE WITH THE ONES YOU WOULD RECEIVE LAILATUL QADR

Penilaian Darjah 5 now UPSR

Tomorrow Aiman will be taking his UPSR exam at Hira' Batu Belah. I remembered vaugely taking the Penilaian Darjah 5 exam in 1981. Those days it was the defining exam in your primary student life. The first of many stressing exams. Most parents wants their children to get 5As so as to get better chances to be admitted to the boarding schools. I too had the ambitions to go to a boarding school, after reading books by Enid Blighton on boys living in boarding school (cant remember the name of the book). I was very fortunate to get 5As in the exams as i can't remember studying for it or going for tuitions.

These days not much has changed with regards of expectations of parents towards their children. Tuition centres grew fast and furious to accomodate the needs of the parents (not the children). I think the tutions centres provide a piece of mine for the parents that they are doing something...

Also i personally find tuitions are very stressfull...so am i going to let my children go through something that i my self do not enjoy.... ?? ow come on.... its still damn long way to go.... its not the end of the world.... you can't even use your upsr results to be admitted to the university and it is not reflected even n your CV.....

as for my own children, i wish like all parents that they would succeed in life and hereafter. Though i do not want to put undue stress to them. I do not sent Aiman to tuitions classes at all. Instead i discussed with him on his study schedules early in the year. I try to instill values of planning and working hard for it. Bit by bit and consistency. Results does not matter as long as he has given the his best. The same principles i try to teach him when preparing for a game. You work hard preparing and you will reapt the fruits at the end of the day. If you do not achieve what you hope then it is ok, because you have done all humanly possible.

I hope and pray that he does is best, insyallah.....

when i told a good friend that i am reading a book, he told me nobody reads books anymore... only nerds read books... i laughed at his joke. But seriuosly, i find reading books is very much rewarding and very full filling..

I started reading when i was in primary school, where my favourite materials was Beano and Dandy comis, then it was roy of the rovers. Then i moved to Famous Fives, Nancy Drew and Enid Blyton books.. I usually read while eating and before falling to bed.

In school, we were school fortunate, where we would be asked to read certain classics every months like Treasure Island, the 39 steps, Montezuma kings and Animal Farm.. Though the best book I read at school was the Cossacks.

though i have a passion for reading, i can't read educational materials, which relates to my field of study.. too bloody boring...

recent times, i started to purchase books of interest from the internet, and i am able to finish the book within the week....

so far this year the best read is the the long walk to freedom an AB of Mandela and Living the Dream by Mils.. My next target will be Playing With The enemy,a book on how the RWC in South Africa united a nation, by a simple gesture of Madiba wearing the Jersey of Francois Penaar during the presentation of the trophy...

While driving Aiman to school today, I was reminded of the battles that took place during the month of Ramadan by Rasulullah SAW. I just could not imagine the sacrifice made by the muhajirin and ansars in Badar and Khaibar. In the hot blistering suns, the sand and the heats... and yet the muslim to steadfast beside the Rasulullah SAW.

here at 5.00 pm when we are stuck in a jam we start to curse, even though with full blast of the air conditions we are still unable to remain calm. Then we start to complaint about the heat and the sun, and once we reach the bazaar ramadan we start to complaint about the long queues for the roti johns....

O Allah gives us strength as you have the given to the muslim in Badar and Khaibar..... and make our heart and soul steadfast to the teachings of Islam

Bazaar ramadan is the most sought after place around 1 or 2 hours before breaking fast. In some bazaar ramadancould strecth up to 1 km, there are throngs of people buying food breaking fast. most of the time we over doingit. We usually let our nafs control our better judgements. And most of the time, the food bought would always go to waste. it usually goes to waste due to the taste is not as good as it looks or just buying too much.

Its has been a couple of years since I indulge my self to the bazaar ramadan... due to the taste of the food.. I consider we are usually or alway fooled by our eyes and our nafs. The only times i go there is during emergency or special circumstances...

not all but most of the food are a rip off, like the murtabak is getting smaller and full onions instead of meat, the roti john is only eggs slap on to the bun, the chicken is always cold, the cakes are tasteless.......

frankly i prefer simple home cooking for breaking fast.... a simple man needs only a simple meal.... after its ramadan and its a time of relflections, restrains and sacrifices not a time self indulgance anf being wastefull

Today is the first day of the holy fasting month. This year Zayd will be fasting together with us. Aiman only started fasting when he was standard one and Imran started when he was six years old.

Last year we were able to complete the quran together and hopefully,we will be able to do the same a last year, insyallah.

my memories and prayers is with a former friend who passed away couple years ago. He passed away few days before Ramadan. May Allah bless his soul.

I am feeling quite lousy at the moment due to running nose. Cold as Kudo would call it not flu. I left early from terawikh as i do not want the others to be infected by my sneezzing,

H1N1 ni sejenis flu, or full name dia influenza. Flu ni bila2 ada di dunia ni, and this particular one takde vaccine. Kalau tengok flu vaccine, every time vaccine dia keluarkan bergantung kat virus strain mana yg CDC (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/vaccination/acip.htm) agak akan cause havoc utk tahun tu. So, ada tahun Hong Kong flu la, amende flu la.

'Flu' yg kita selalu dgr org ckp ie selsema, demam and batuk2 tapi lasts for like at most beberapa hari je - itu sebenarnya cold. Virus dia lain eg adenovirus etc. Flu yg betul sakit dia teruk - sendi2 sengal, demam, sakit kepala and selsema/batuk. Org kata kalau aku tanam RM100 dlm laman rumah kau, sakit tu berat enough to make you go eh tak mau ah, nak dok dlm katil. Now, ini flu yg betul and ada di mana2.

Sama gak dgn swine flu. Yg lainnya dia tak de vaccine mcm flu lain. So far, according to WHO, kalau kena kebanyakan org kena demam/sakit agak sederhana. Mcm flu biasa.

Now, yg boleh mati - flu biasa pun boleh membunuh, selalunya org yg daya ketahanan immune system yg kureng atau ada co-existing diseases yg boleh jadi lagi teruk bila kena infection, contohnya org asthma yg teruk, chronic bronchitis (ni org isap rokok yg biasanya batuk2 kahak) atau heart failure yg paru2nya 'berair'. Kalau tgk yg meninggal ni either mmg selalunya ada sakit sampingan. Ada jugak some individuals yg mati disebabkan reaction badan nk lawan flu tu kuat sangat - tuan punya badan mati (the so-called cytokine storm). Tapi di ingatkan, ini pun boleh jadik dgn flu biasa.One complication is pneumonia (infection paru2) disebabkan flu virus, ini pun boleh kena dgn flu virus biasa, and is a possibility but not an eventuality.

Masalah besar skrg is walaupun test tu positif kat si mati, it is difficult to be 100% certain H1N1 tu sebabnya. Psl kat sini, org M'sia tak buat autopsy sangat mcm kat UK. Kat sini deaths ada tapi bila autopsy tgk - rupa2nya sakit jantung etc, ie they died WITH swine flu, bukan OF swine flu. Am I making sense? Additional problem is - media kengkadang tak tulis betul2 berita. Org mati with H1N1, dia tulis mati of. Niat media betul nak inform org, tapi tak boleh nak kata apa kan - human nature menyebabkan kita baca dan kita jadik anxious. In the British press, tak de berita psl bilangan kematian yg merisaukan (possibly psl sistem autopsy sini) and aku punya hospital tak de increase in deaths either (aku tau psl bilik mayat mcm 50 feet from my office!). Tapi kat UK, flu teruk masa winter - so watch this space.

Ubat utk H1N1 effective kalau makan awal (tamiflu or relenza). And korang kalau tgk berita/paper Msia dah ada ubat ni (ubat kot yg ada di clinic tu - BUKAN vaccine). Rihat di rumah, minum air banyak2. And panadol utk hilangkan2 sakit2. You are infectious masa nak start sakit and you may still be infectious after 5-10 days. So kurangkan exposure kepada org lain. What are the chances of recovery tanya Mizy - the answer in my opinion, is the same as any influenza viral infection.

Prevention is the best cure especially for influenza, so kalau sakit jgn jangkitkan kat org. Kalau sihat, maintain good hygiene. Tissue paper sekali guna buang. InsyaAllah ok.

Ingat - flu biasa PUN boleh membunuh. Psl swine flu ni dpt perhatian umum psl dia tak ada vaccine - benda yg mmg ada jadi 'besar'. Take a step back and think. The last H1N1 pandemic yg bunuh berjuta org tahun 1918 camtu - tapi ingat dulu medical technology mcm mana.

received a sms from a buddy saying an old friend just confirmed contracted the H1N1 virus and now being quarantine at home. He is the most unlikely person to be contracted, but again the virus now spreads locally. sent him some text and wishing him well. I will definate will visit him once thing clears up.

Its a pendamics and thousand of people are infected everyday. Everybody getting sick nowadays. The clinics are full with patients waiting for check up, MCs are handed out for every cold, cough and sneezing. Even the mosques are doing special prayers for protections against the virus.

Not until today, only I fully understand about H1N1. It was described by my old school mate Dr Kudo, using plan simple language that lay man would understand. thanks bro, and i really like the part when you use the RM100 analogy.. Mat Saleh - James Carman

When Aiman was born I received a translation of the quran from an unlikely source. In the front page he wrote may this book be your guiding light. It was very different. The person that gave me the translation was a Mat Saleh, he was my boss at that time. It took me 2 weeks to understand what he was saying when i first joined the company.

My facination with he middle east was mainly due to him, as he was working in the middle east before coming to KL. He said you could loose your belonging in a cab and it will be returned to you. One of his friend was famous freedom fighter from sout africa, i could not remeber the name but i remember how fond when he spoke of the guy.

When he left the company, he gave me an flatering recommendation and it was humbling, We kept in contact after he left though now a communication is lost.the last time i spoke to him was in 1999. I am trying very hard to locate him again. the last I heard he was working in Kenya, very typical of him.

I owe him a lot, as this is the place where i developed my business principles and to stand by it.

I was waiting foir my wife in near book store when I saw cars driving by droping their kids and driving off. I then realise i was near a tution centre. throngs of cars were driving by. Aiman will be taking his UPSR this year, in the month of Ramadahn I think. Not once have i thought of sending him for tutions.

just imagine ging to school at 7 am back at 2pm, then religous school from 2.30 to 5.00pm, then tuition from 8pm to 10pm. damn as its bloody tough being a kid nowadays.

Maybe the parents now are too exam and result oriented...or maybe as one of the deejay commented that the what the childrens are going through are to serve the parents ego... its not the children who are competitive but its the parents who are being ultra competitive. Maybe its the parents who should go to tuition classes.. see if the enjoy it

Ramadhan

The holiest month in the islamic calender is just around the corner, about 3 weeks away. Last ramadhan was able to finish the quran with aiman and imran. Hopefully this year zayd will be involved in the tadarus.

My mind is currently planning for the holy month, just going over what to do and what to achieve at the end of the holy months. And hopefully the coming ramadhan will be better than the last year.

Long walk to freedom

ever since i visited cape town in 2006, i have developed a facination towards this rainbow nation. also they have a very strong rugby side whom had beaten the migthy all blacks last night. Currently i am reading the autobiography of Nelson Mandela " the long walk to freedom". right now i am still in the 1950s, the early years of aparthied. I am amazed when i learned the first organized act of defiance by the ANC was on the 26th june 1952 called the Act of Defiance Campaign. Now when I celebrate my birthday, i would also know on that date history was made.

I am also proud that the muslim community (indian and colored) had played a major role along side Nelson Mandela in his struggle to eridicate aparthied. I also learned aparthied means apart.

recently i met a gentlemen from south africa, he beamed when we spoke about Madiba, Cheeky Watson and Luke Watson. and he was amazed when i told him my son can sing Nkosi Sikelel' i Afrika....

of late we read in the papers about married couples getting divorce after so many years marriage. is this the right solutions? are the differences too great beyond reconciliations? can't we just be civilized and just talk about it.

getting divorce is a big thing although permitted in Islam, it should be avoided at all cost. The party that always suffer are the children. special attention needs to be given to them especially in these trying times...

the best way to settle marriage disputes is to refer back to Quran and Hadith.

Gadgets

I have this great facinations for gadgets for quite some time now. When see gadgets that i really like, i just could not get it out of my mind. Though I am not a compulsive buyer, i always think it through first. 90% , I would just buy it. Sometimes it gets me into trouble with the little lady at home. I think by now she has just given up on me... as long as i pay my dues and do not forget my responsibilities, I should be in the clear.

The latest gadget that i bought is the Blackberry Bold, manage to persuade the little lady to buy it also. it was that or the iphone, sensibilities took over... blackberry it is.

so far this is the best buy along with my ipod touch... i am able to do lots of things like communicating, review files, emails and blah blah. the only setback is surfing the internet... damn slow.... though.. i am loving it.. and so does the little lady.. as long as she is happy... i am happy...

Frankly it is a very gloomy week, I would be loosing a dear friend who will be leaving KL and back to his home town.

To my friend, good luck to you and wish you all the best in your future undertaking. He is one of the most hardworking player on the pitch, never die attitude but sometimes can be a bit nutty. He gives the inspirations to work and strive harder without him knowing so. I will always regard him as a very dear friend eventhough sometimes I do not even understand him.

as any other sunday afternoon its junior rugby time at padang utara... the most patience man, i had is the under 8 coach. Graham.. he volunteers to coach the most difficult groups from the age of 5 to 8. at the end of sessions he would turn red either from heat or from his blood preasure.. then i realize... this is the group where the future richie mc caws, the jonny wilkinsons and martin johnson are born. and this the most important group...

i must say graham is the most creative coach, i have met... well you got to be....
