The article below is not about the england but it is about the ethos of rugby.. why it is considered to be a gentlemen's game.. I remembered when I was in Form 3, we were summoned to the pavillion by Cikgu Maamor... he was really pissed off, because the day before we were jeering the opposing school in a rugby match... He said this is not rugby... we must cheer not jeer... till this day i hold to what he said......

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has issued an apology to the Australian High Commissioner for the 'bad manners' shown by the England fans who booed the Wallaby goal kickers at Twickenham. Brian Williams, the RFU President, has promised a full investigation into why his urgent requests for crowd silence were not broadcast across the stadium's tannoy system. "I am annoyed about it, very annoyed," said Williams. "I shall be taking steps to find out why the appeal wasn't made. I apologised to the High Commissioner, John Dauth, as we sat watching the game and heard the noise when they lined up their first penalty. I wasted no time letting him know how sorry I was for what I regarded as very bad manners. "He said 'This sort of thing seems to be happening in the game more and more'. I am a great supporter of the ethos of the game and this strikes me as another example of how the crowd is changing and that maybe many of those responsible are not real rugby supporters. "They are letting England down. After the second Australian penalty, the noise gradually got worse. I think it's awful. "Real rugby supporters don't behave like that because they know it's wrong to show anything less than complete respect to the kickers from both sides." With South Africa and New Zealand still to visit Twickenham in the next two weeks the RFU will take steps in preventing a repeat performance from the crowd. "We will make an announcement before the game asking for respect to be shown to both teams," said Williams. "We do not want this to be repeated."
