When did it all started

NSW now is one of the top rugby club in the country and now is its 25th years. I am very proud to be still part of the team. First played for nsw in 1993. NSW used to be the whipping boys in rugby 15s in the 1990s. the score when playing against Blackhawks or PDRM usually reaches the 40 to 50 mark. the 15 teams does not have proper coaching or proper training.. usually NSW would only train on the further side of padang merbuk as DBKL or SMS old boys trained the main sections of the field.
in 1999 came along Hamdan Yassin a former Malaysia, DBKL, KL and NS players. Before playing for DBKL and KL, he played for NS right after school. He brought the players together most of them are still young and trained them. For the first time the training sessions begins to look like proper rugby training. The other senior players or stars opted to play for their employers. Only Bad In the first NICC that year, the teams started to win games and nearly qualified to play in the semi finals. The most memorable game was when NSW beat SMS old boys by 3 points courtesy of Dukun. In the final game for qualifications for the semis, Hamdan who was the capten, coach, pack leader did not play due to injuries. NSW lost the match but it was just the begining

In the Agung cups, NS had to play in the 2nd divisions as 1998 saw NS lost all of the matches and regulated ot division two. Hamdan again organized the team, we even had centralize training in Seremban, which we had to spend the weekend there. The highlight was the Lamb BBQ in the evening. NS managed to win the second divisions by beating Melaka at Padang Bukit Jalil. In the Agung cup tournaments NS were grouped with Penang, Selangor and ATM. NS beat Penang but lost to Selangor and ATM, Hamdan did not play due to injuries.
later that year during polling day, I received the news that Hamdan Yassin passed away after collapsing during a warm down. I was very sad and disturbed when I heard this. The saddest part was that I was not able to attend his funeral for some stupid reason.., Till today i would always remember his dedication to the team, even though when the odds are down. May Allah bless hi soul and placed him amongst his loved ones... AL Fatihah
in 2000, NSW were the runners up in the NICC and NS won the Agong Cup for the first time.
so when people asked me when did all started I would just say 1999 influenced by a catalyst named Hamdan Yasin
